BRX was designed for the race enthusiast but does not exclude the stock street vehicles. Some vehicles produce more heat then other and because temperatures are constantly high, it promotes rubber brake down and usually ballooning of the hose is the first sign of wear. If an overheated engine occurs, due to the compromised hose structure, permanent engine damage usually occurs. Heat is only one of the reasons that can compromise hoses integrity. There is electrochemical degradation, which is the process which a chemical reaction is caused by galvanic cell or battery. This reaction causes micro cracks allowing coolant to flow past the hose reinforcement eventually causing the hose to fail. Also the environmental elements and oil causes wearing on all rubber components which will eventually lead to failure.
